The newly organized CU Radical Reading Group is excited for its first meeting happening in November! Our decided book for November is Anarchism and Its Aspirations by Cindy Milstein. It’s a short read. You can download it for free as a PDF file HERE.
We also decided it might be cool to experiment with listening to different radical music every month in addition to a book (or for those who just don’t have time to read yet one more book). So for November we are set on Baltimore radical hip hop artist Sun of Nun and his album with DJ Mentos, “The Art of Struggle”. This is also available to listen to for free HERE.
Our anticipated meeting place will hopefully be in the UC IMC Building, located at 202 S. Broadway, Urbana, IL in the Family Room located on the bottom level of the building (entrance around back). Scheduling with the good folks at UC IMC is in the works!
This is an open meeting so everyone is welcome, including anyone toting babies and/or children. We are currently scheduling for a Sunday afternoon in mid November (probably around 4pm). More details coming soon.
And don’t forget to come with ideas for December’s book and music!
We look forward to meeting everyone and getting in some good conversation! Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or ideas.
